Hey Guys, today I am offering Three very different WOW cards!! If you missed it, click here to see it! For those who have been at a class with me, you might know the Sloth story. Let me tell those of you who haven’t been live with me….Both my sisters with their spouses and Howie and I played a game called The Newlywed Game years ago. All of us had been married a while and thought this would be fun. A question came up “What animal would your Mother in Law be?” The guys had to answer, and my sisters and I thought this should be interesting! My oldest sisters’ hubby answered an Owl, since she is so smart. The youngest sisters’ hubby answered A Pug (what!??), so it was Howie’s turn. Indeed, my husband answered a Sloth, because she is so slow. Yikes!!

I got my sense of Humor from my Mom

Now my mom had survived lung cancer and had half a lung removed. So her health wasn’t the best. Every time the family would meet up in CA all the ladies would go to a Tea Room. We’re sitting at the table and I thought I would tell my mom all about the answers her Son-in-Laws said. Immediately she comes up with a plan, to get revenge.

When we got back to the house where everyone was, she would exclaim that she wasn’t feeling well and lay down on the couch. So, of course we didn’t know the rest of her plan but we went with it. Once she sighs and lays down on the couch all the guys come into the room to be sure she is ok. She says “I’m feeling very…….’slothlike'”. My husband Howie’s face goes white, and he is in shock with his mouth wide open. Then of course he him haws around and says it’s because you are so smart that I said that! Sloths are slow, and they have to be smart to survive! 🙂 Ever since that time my family has loved Sloths! Why she picked on the Sloth and not the Pug, tells me she knew Howie would get a kick out of it!

Now for the Technique

As seen above I shared the Fancy fold first, even though it’s not first on my video. Of course, I HAD to share the story of why Sloth’s are special to me. Three very different WOW cards! I’ve shown you the Fancy fold, now here is the technique! Basically I am a sucker for techniques and this is one of my favorites! Since I have never seen the Northern Lights, I have to make a card with one!

As can be seen on the inside, below….I used ANOTHER technique to make a bookmark! Stampin’ Up! has a new Tool for our Take your Pick tool, and it’s a rotary perforated tool that lets me make a bookmark that can be torn out by the recipient!! Cool, right?!!

In this case, if you look closely you can see where the bookmark will tear off! Obviously you will want to send this to someone who enjoys reading!!

So, now we are on to the Cute one!! I love Giraffe, they are my favorite wild animal and I have a few Giraffe items around my house. Chiefly, I have always loved them, but I visited my Daughter in MN and got to hand feed one! Of course that would sell anyone on why these animals are so special!

You don’t have to color!

Hey Guys, I’m bringing you a super easy Magnetic closure card that you don’t have to color!! Currently I am in California visiting my Daughter and then bringing my Grandson home for a visit! Furthermore this is his first visit without his parents, any ideas on what we can do?!! As far as the card today, it is a fun one! Especially since it is easy and can be made in minutes! Of course if you would like to see it being made I made a video you can watch he r e!

Occasionally I make wow cards that are still simple. Subsequently I came up with this one, spoiler…I did get the idea from Pinterest from Donna Ross. Of course she used Velcro to close her card, but I like to have an easy magnetic closure. This way you can see it and nothing spoils the card!

Faux Bargello Technique

Great way to use DSP in a different way

Hey guys, The faux Bargello technique is one of my favorites. Indeed, I learned it 13 years ago and thought I should revisit it! As can be seen below, this is an easy technique that gives you a distinct look. Overall, you take a DSP and stamp on it, then cut into strips place on a base but be sure to offset the strips just a tad up or down. Of course you can see how I did it, by clicking here. Every Thursday I have videos either Live or Pre-Recorded. This video is live and if you comment while I’m live you get put in the drawing to receive this card in your mailbox!

Hey Guys, Today I am making a simple greeting card using Cheerful Daisies! Of course this was one of the stamp sets I HAD to get once we could order it! Being a Stampin’ Up! Featuring Beautiful Balloons and Hey Chuck

Hey Guys, Fun & Funny Stamping is right up my Alley!! Of course I love to laugh (who doesn’t!?), so I made one of the cards super funny (at least to me). Fun & Funny stamping – THIS is my FUN card

Who doesn’t love Frills!? The dies for this Balloon stamp set has Frills! Definitely, I wanted to show how you could look at the catalog and use the images to make something. Especially since the Stampin’ Up! catalog is FULL of ideas! Moreover I used the design for this card from the catalog, BUT the card in the catalog was a Slim Line card. So, I decided to use the design but make it different, so I could be me.

Fun with Lazy Days

Hey Guys, I get to Finally play with NEW product! Basically, today I am having fun with Lazy Days. I have to thank Carol Buckalew for opening my mind to ways to use this set. I have done a video walking you through how to make this. Of course, the picture does not do it justice, so be sure to comment on my video within the next few days and you may get it in the mail! Particularly since I started doing a random drawing for those who comment on my recorded video.

Before you ask, yes I give out my pdf for this card to those who are signed up for my newsletter! I try to email every week the PDF that I made for that week. Basically I would do it less often, but adding too many PDF’s makes it to where it’s too big to send. So, if you don’t mind getting a PDF (or more) each week, sign up!

Did you notice?

Because the picture can not give you what your naked eye could, I want to point out that the railing/porch cover are ‘painted’! Indeed, I used Blends to make this a Victorian porch! Not only did I use Blends, but I used the NEW colors Bubble Bath and Moody Mauve! Hereafter you can call this a Dynamic Duo! Of course they go good together, SU! is so good at making colors that pair nicely together.

Also, I want to point out how the rocking chair is colored. Thanks to Carol this looks like a REAL rocking chair! Equally if you watch the video you will see how I made the ‘mountains’. Of course mountains are not that color, but in MY world they are! LOL Occasionally I have to stretch the colors that are in reality to match the card!

Did you know

At this time, did you know that I have a BOGO sale every year? Instead of keeping all my retired sets (I DO keep some), I let those who can come by my house pick out what they want. And then I let them pick out the same amount out of the new catalog. Then they only pay one price! Besides getting the retired stamp sets they get NEW product and only pay one price! Wait, there’s more! LOL Another thing they get to do is pick out Sale-a-Bration item for FREE that I have! NOT only do they get to pick out SAB items, but they get one for every $30 NOT $50! It’s a win win, I get to clean out retired product AND get sales! Basically you just need to contact me and we can arrange a time for you to come by.

Certainly you see everything I do (said tongue in cheek), but if you missed it check out last weeks post! Next week for my Live I will play with something new, I’m thinking the New set Hey Chuck! Even though I don’t LOVE chickens, this set makes me laugh. Of course anything that makes me laugh is good!! Especially since some days are harder than others (I deal with depression) when you get a smile from something, go for it! Probably why I love my husband so much. Besides being a good man, he makes me laugh EVERY day! Plus, he doesn’t expect me to clean house! Certainly he’s a keeper!!
