Olde Tyme Christmas

Hey Guys!

Easy and Fun Olde Tyme Christmas Card to wow your friends and family! Stamping, tearing & sponging is all it takes to make this beautiful card!

Today I am sharing with you an Olde Tyme Christmas Card! This handmade card uses the NEW stamp set from Stampin’ Up! called Snow Wonder. This will wow your friends and family! First, when stamped the image has a lot of hash marks and that, to me, looks like it is an Old Fashioned drawing. Second I tried to emboss it with white and see what it looked like…..not so great! The hash marks made it all bunch up and it had no definition.

As a result, I then tried it in Early Espresso and WOW that looked so good! Colored the carrot, hat and scarf with my Stampin’ Blends, using light colors. As long as I used light colors it didn’t take away from the Olde Tyme Christmas look. Since I was making it look older I tore the paper (after stamping everything else) and sponged Early Espresso on the edges!

EAsy and Fun Olde Tyme Christmas Card
Easy and fun Olde Tyme Christmas Card

Since I colored the scarf with Bashful Blue, I thought pulling in that color would be pretty on the ribbon in the corners. So, I colored the ribbon with a Bashful Blue Dark Blend, popped up the image on a piece I stamped with Buffalo Check and wrapped it on the corners. In the same vein, did you notice that I used an antique slide on the ribbon at the top?! I think that added a more Olde Tyme feel to it! To sum up, for the base I used more of the Bashful Blue to pull it all together! What do you think?

Sunflower Shaker Card

Hey Guys!

Today I am sharing with you a card I made using the Jar of Flowers stamp set AND the Mason Jar Shaker Domes! I LOVE shaker cards, and this one was so fun! The stamp of the Mason Jar is so cute! These are REVERSIBLE stamps! So, you stamp the image in Pool Party to mimic a Real Mason Jar turn the stamp over and you can shade it with the same stamp!

Here is my card:

No one can resist a shaker card! You just HAVE to shake it!

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is supposed to be a table with the brick being the wall. Do you see that? I wasn’t so sure how to make it look like a table, so this is what I came up with.

When I did the brick, I used real red cardstock and then ran the Memento Black ink over it to look more weathered and real. For the double bow ribbon I used the Forever Greenery Combo pack, the gold really sets off the gold in the DSP. And for the inside of the jar I used the Flowers for every season Gems. Really fun to to shake!

Here are the specific for this card:

Stamps:
Jar of Flowers
Comfort & Hope

Inks:
Early Espresso (for flowers)
Memento Black (for brick and Sentiment)
Pool Party (for water and for the jar)
Old Olive (for stems)
Blends: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake

Paper:
Bumble Bee 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
Gold Foil 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
Black 5 1/4″ x 4″ (x2)
Real Red 5″ x 3 3/4″
DSP 1 1/4″ x 3 3/4″
Whisper White 3″ x 5″ (for flowers AND inside jar) 5″ x 3 3/4″ (for inside)

Misc:
Forever Greenery Trim (gold )
Flowers for Every Season Gems
Stampin’ Seal

Window Sheet Card

Hey Guys!

Today I am sharing with you a card that was inspired by a card online. You can find a video of my card here. I think the creator is french, and her name is Lezards de Cilou. Here is the card that influenced me:

She called it a Tripod card.

Having seen other cards made with Window Sheets as the front of the card, I wanted to have another go! If you would like to see an additional card I made using Window Sheets click here. Here is what I made today:

Sorry that the lights are reflecting off the Window Sheet!

And on the inside we have the sentiment that is hidden by the birds when it is closed:

This card is so pretty in person! The colors go so well together! I love how Stampin’ Up!’s product coordinates together. When I realized this 19 years ago, I knew that I wanted to get the discount and become a Demo! What I didn’t know is that I would STILL be doing it AND loving every part of it!

Here are the specifics for this card:

Stamps: Free as a Bird, Lovely You (Brand NEW!!)
Inks: Memento Black, Old Olive, Rococo Rose, Blends: Rococo Rose, Old Olive, Soft Suede
Paper:Very Vanilla 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored @ 4 1/4″, 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, Whisper White 2″ x 4″ (for stamping birds, then fussy cut around, Old Olive 5 1/4″ x 4″, Window Sheet 5 1/2″ x 4 1/8″
Misc: 2020 – 2022 In Color Enamel Dots, MultiPurpose Liquid Glue, Stamping Sponges

When cutting the Ornate Flowers border, cut it on the edge of the cardstock so you can place the other edge against the Window Sheet. You will need to color the flowers by sponging over the center of the flowers using Rococo Rose, and the leaves with Old Olive, you will also want to sponge the edges of the cut out with the Old Olive, this will make it blend. To place this on the Window Sheet, use a Silicone Craft Sheet, place a puddle of Liquid Glue and pounce the sponge over the glue and holding the cut out still, pounce the back so you won’t see where you put the glue. This makes it so much prettier on the other side of the Window Sheet.

Hope you are doing well!

Day of Service

Hey Guys!

Yesterday we had a Day of Service with Stampin’ Up! Our CEO Sara Douglass was online and she sent out the pdf that will help us make Beautiful handmade cards fast and easy!

THIS was extremely helpful and made my cardmaking go quickly!

I mailed out all the cards today, wanna see what I sent? Keep in mind that I used retiring product, but YOU still have time to get that DSP, Noble Peacock Rhinestones & Ribbon if they are still available go to my OnLine Store now!

Below I am showing you each one!

Card 1

Sorry the Sentiment is light, it says “I changed out of my NIGHT Pajamas into my DAY pajamas to send you this card” All the insides say “Sending you a paper hug”.
Card 2, Sending Hugs
Card 3, sentiment is the same on most of them…Wanted to get a lot done!
Card 4, Smile! LOVE this one!
Card 5, same sentiment about pajamas
Card 6
Card 7
Card 8

So, I made 20 cards, multiples of the ones above. I am NOT a ‘go quick’ crafting kind of girl! But, this was eye opening for me!! Not only are these beautiful, but I got them done and out in 1 day! THAT is unheard of for me! I also used the Spread Sunshine pdf available here, that you can download, print out and make your own cards! ALL proceeds go to helping with Covid 19!

Below you can see the supplies used in picture form. to get the measurements for the cards see the first picture. The only thing I added was a piece of Old Olive at 5 1/4″ x 4″. Do a card without layers?! Not me! My eyes are wide open, and know this about myself. But I really love how these came out, what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by, give this a try!!

Ornate Garden Quilt Card

Hey Guys!

Today I am sharing with you a card where I have used the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP), cutting it up with Square dies to make a Quilt card! Also included in the Quilt part is Gold Foil!

Hard to see, but I have ruffled ribbon on the bottom of the focal piece.

Starting out, I cut the Ornate Garden DSP and Gold Foil using the Stitched Shapes Dies (Squares). Then, I cut each square in half, lay them opposite each other until I had a pattern that made me happy. Once I had that done, I cut a piece of Whisper White to fit under and glued them into the desired Quilt shape I wanted. There are so many ways to manipulate the squares, but this is the way I liked it the most.

For the border on the top and bottom, I used the Ornate Borders Dies also using the Gold Foil. But first, I layered the quilt pattern onto Old Olive, to make it pop! Once I had all that done, I used some Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon along the bottom and ‘scalloped’ it so it had a ruffled edge. This turned out so pretty!! It’s very subtle in the picture but in real life it stands out!

After more white cardstock and Gold Foil, my Quilt card is almost done! I needed a sentiment to add to the front so I used ‘my friend’ from the Stamp set Ornate Thanks from Stampin’ Up! NOT sure if you have noticed by now but I LOVE SU! This company has added so much fun/creativity and Friends to my life, not sure what I would do if I didn’t have Stampin’ Up! in my life!

Of course I had to top off my card with some bling! I chose Gilded Gems to add that final touch. So? What do you think? Could it be for a wedding, birthday, pick me up or all of the above!?

As usual, here are all the specifics for this card:

Stamps:
Ornate Thanks

Inks:
Versamark

Paper:
Whisper White Thick 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
Whisper White 5 1/8″ x 3 3/4″, 4 3/4″ x 2 3/8″ (for under Quilt)
Gold Foil 5 1/4″ x 4″, 5″ x 3/4″ (x2) for border, scraps for squares
Ornate Garden DSP scraps for squares

Misc:
Ornate Borders Dies
Ornate Frames Dies
Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (white)
Gilded Gems
Dimensionals
Gold Embossing Powder
Embossing Buddy
Heat tool
Subtle 3D Folder

Also as usual, all the supplies will be listed below in picture form. Click on any of them to be taken to my OnLine Store. A new way to Color!

Hey Guys!

Today I am sharing with you a New (to me) way to color, I have really never liked to color using Markers, it always seemed too…….much. I love to color straight onto my stamp sets using markers, but not to actually color an image once stamped. Stampin’ Blends are my go-to for coloring because they are easy. Moreover, they let you shadow really well, the only problem with Blends is when you use Embossing Powder on your project. For some reason they get muddy when they touch the embossed part. Even though I try to NOT touch the embossed part, inevitably I always do. Here is my card so you can see why I had problems with Blends.

Colored with Markers

As you can see, this is a pretty busy stamp, It’s called Ornate Style, the embossed parts are close together. Now, I could have stamped and not embossed, but I love the way the embossing is shiny and really lets the image stand out. Furthermore, I never thought of blending with markers! So, I used two different colors to make it look like it did when I used Blends. It came out MUCH better than I thought it would, in fact I love it! Now I will have to do this more often! I then sponged the white cardstock with Crumb Cake and then the edges were sponged with Early Espresso.

Also, I used other items from the Suite in the upcoming 2020-2021 Annual Catalog from Stampin’ Up! The dies I used are called Ornate Layers and the other stamp set is called Ornate Thanks & I am in love! Doesn’t everyone like playing with new goodies?! The great thing about this Suite is that you can get it now, (some of the dies are on backorder) and it will be good until the end of the Upcoming catty and possible longer! For those of you who like getting the discount when you order bundles, I will honor the bundle price and give you 10% off your dies when you can order them. Since it will be around a long time, there will be lots of time to create projects using it! Plus, there are a TON of project ideas on Pinterest, you will be kept busy for sure!!

As usual, here are the specifics for this card:

Stamps:
Ornate Style
Ornate Thanks

Inks:
Versamark
Crumb Cake/Early Espresso for sponging edges
Markers: Balmy Blue/Pacific Point, Mango Melody/Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral/Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive/Mossy Meadow & Soft Suede for stems

Paper:
Balmy Blue 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
Night of Navy 5 1/2″ x 4″, scrap for sentiment
Whisper White 4 3/4″ x 3 1/4″

Misc:
Embossing Buddy
Heat tool
Black Embossing Powder
White Embossing Powder
Ornate Layers Dies
Ornate Frames Dies
Noble Peacock Rhinestones
Basic Rhinestones
Wink of Stella
Dimensionals
Stampin’ Sponges

Also, you will find the same supplies listed below in picture form, click on any of them to be taken to my OnLine Store! Purchase $35 or more from me and you will Receive not one but TWO sets of project files with over 50 (combined) tutorials with pictures! Here is a sneak peek of just one set:

I really hope you are taking this ‘down time’ at home and are playing with your stamps. When I woke up this morning I felt down…….I told myself to go down to my office and make something pretty, THAT always makes me happy. I hope that you are taking care of yourselves and making pretty things too!
