Tarnished Foil Technique

Hey Guys!

It’s been a while since I was last here!  Sorry, life got a bit busy.  I had my trip to Salt Lake City Utah for Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage event, and WOW I had so much fun! I met up with my SU! Besties and we room together every time!

I came home and 4 days later we went to Vero Beach for a much needed break!  It was so nice to sit and read on the beach!!  I was under the umbrella and the only thing that would have totally made it better was to have a Beach Boy bring me some drinks!  hahaha

Now I am home and I jumped right back in to my ‘work’.  I put the apostrophes there because I have so much fun creating it is sometimes hard to remember that I get PAID!  Love my job, if you want to join my team, just let me know!

On to the Tarnished Foil technique, thanks to my Besties Carol and Hetty for telling me all about it!  I HAD to come home and try my hand at it!

Here are the cards I did on my YouTube video:

Aren’t they stunning?!!  This is a fun and easy technique and no two are alike!  I Love stacking my ribbons, can you see it?  I ‘colored’ my gold edged ribbon with the Bronze Stampin’ Blends so it would go with my project and stacked it with the copper ribbon!  Go check out my video for all the dimensions.

I hope if you live in the States you choose me as your demonstrator!  IF you purchase from me, I will send you one of my cards that I use for my videos!  Shop Now!

As always, the items used for this post are listed below, each picture will link you to my OnLine Store!  I DO have some SAB items for a sneak peek, can’t list them below, but the one I used is called Happy Wishes, and I KNOW you will want it as much as I did!

I’m back to my ‘work’, I am making my Christmas cards, I’ll share those with you next time!!

NEW Technique Tuesday Making a Scene using an Embossing Folder

I love Tuesday’s!  Techniques are my favorite thing about stamping.  I get to use my Stamps in a totally different way!!  The Technique I am using today had me thinking of what I could put BEHIND trees, but still show what I needed it to show.

Here is today’s card:

I made a YouTube video showing this stamping technique.  I love Birch Trees, I also love the Birthday Delivery Stamp set by Stampin’ Up!  I got super excited about being able to use BOTH!  When you go watch the video it will show you exactly how easy this technique is to do!

Stamping directly onto an Embossing Folder isn’t something you think of normally.  Tips:  1. Stamp on the side that has the negative (dipping down) the part you want as your focal in the folder this will be the part that is raised on your card. 2.  Pick images to stamp on that you will see in the lines available that are the flat parts of the folder.  3.  Use colors that will enhance what you are stamping.  4. Use a brayer to lay down a color that will be behind the images (sky), anything you stamp over the brayered color will be at the top of the cardstock.  5. Make sure that you don’t move the folder once you put all the stamping in (I did NOT follow this rule on my video, but I fixed my mistake!)  6.  Remember that it’s ONLY PAPER, and play with it!

I won’t be able to show you here how to do this technique, it would be too confusing, so please go check out my video and see how fun and easy it is.  You will notice that you will look at stamps in a totally new way!

As always, I will have the supplies listed below, just click on any image to be taken to my OnLine Store!

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time!

Technique Tuesday! Add a 3D element to any project!

Today I am going to show you how to make a 3D element using Mod Podge!  If you would like to see this in action, go to my YouTube video where I SHOW you how!

First, you will need to pick a shape you want to transform!  I chose two, the Pansy Punch and the flower from Eastern Medallions Thinlits.  I punched out 3-4 of each image with another one from DSP.  I chose the Eastern Palace since it was so pretty.

Take your Silicone Craft Sheet, a foam brush, Mod Podge and your cut outs.  Starting with the colored images, not your one cut from the DSP, spread a thin layer of ModPodge over entire surface with your Foam brush.  Then lay another layer of the image on top of that and repeat.  You will do this 3 – 4 times ending with the one you cut out of the DSP (do not put ModPodge on top).  Then you can cut into all layers if you want to manipulate the paper more than the design allows.  Keep working at it until you are happy with the shape.  Once done, you will spread Fine Tip Glue over entire surface, set aside to dry.

When dry, put your two pieces together as shown:

This is already attached to my card, but this gives you a close-up of what it looks like when dry.

Here is a picture of the closed card:

In the video I show you how to apply the Flourish Thinlits and how to adhere it to the card!

This is a Fancy Fold card, here it is open:

If you wanted, you could attach the flower on front with a Pin, and then mail it to someone who loves to wear brooches, or use it for a headband!  I have done in the past a 3d Rose, and that was gorgeous!

Please subscribe to my YouTube channel to be informed when a New Technique video is ready!  Tuesday is the day I chose, since Technique Tuesday has a certain ring to it, don’t you think?

And don’t forget to subscribe to my blog so you won’t miss out on anything here.

TOMORROW I have the drawing for this card:

Today is your last chance to either leave me a message on here, or on my YouTube page, if you click on that link you will be taken to the video where I made this card.  You will be AMAZED how much MORE prettier this card is in person!

I am off for now, until next time!!  As always I will have the list of the supplies used (below) for the card today, just click on any of the pictures to be taken to my OnLine Store!

High Tide meets Pattern Party Decorative Mask

Last time I posted I gave a little teaser and told you that I made a card  using the High Tide stamp set with the Pattern Party Decorative Mask……..Here is the card I made!

When I saw the Medallion in the mask, I thought immediately that it could be a ‘sun’…….is that weird that my mind went there?  I hope not!!  I sponged it with Crushed Curry and then went over it with Rose Red, to give it that HOT look.  🙂  High Tide is one of my favorite Stamp sets STILL!  I am not sure if or WHEN it will stop being my favorite, I guess time will tell on what Stampin’ Up! brings out next. This company always pleasantly surprises me!

For the sky and water I used Soft Sky as the base, the waves are done in Pool Party.  The lighthouse is in Dapper Denim, with the first image stamped off…….this is the image that I get so tickled with when I am done stamping…….it is just so intricate and I can’t get over that I stamped it!  Silly, I know!  I’m the one who sits in her Stamp Room by MYSELF and says how great something looks……my kids used to shake their heads and comment that I’m crazy!  Bwaahahahaha  I just get so tickled that I can make beautiful things!  Never in my life was I even a LITTLE bit creative, so when I discovered SU!, I was astonished that I could do things that would make others (including me!) think it was pretty!  My sister always had the creative gene, and after 17 years I am still tickled.  AND I get paid to do it!  What’s better than that!?

The sentiment (Love) is from Lovely Friends, BUT the outside ring is from Label Me Pretty!  I used a marker to color the outside ring then stamped the LOVE from Lovely Label.  I was so happy when I saw that it fit perfectly inside that ring.

Here are the dimensions for this card:

*****
Dapper Denim: 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″ scored t 4 1/4″
Gold Foil: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
Whisper White: 5″ x 3 3/4″
*****

Below are pictures of all the product I used for this card, just click on any image to be taken to my OnLine Store!  If you purchase from me, I will send you a handmade card, be sure and send me your address!

Another Easy but wow card straight from the Catalog!

The card I am sharing with you today is from the stamp set Hello Friend!  I shared this card with you last time:

I, once again, looked in the Catalog for Inspiration!  This is the image that struck me as something I wanted to try:

This is using the kit on page 16 & 17:  Hello Friend Heat Embossing Project Kit.  I don’t have the kit……….yet, but have the stamp set and wanted to give this a try.  I DID have the Gold mini sequins!  Those are just too stinkin’ cute!!  I was giggling when I got them!  It doesn’t take much (in the card making world) to make me happy!

I didn’t have the kit, but I loved the way the wreath looked on Crumb Cake, so I was using that.  I wanted a lighter green (than pictured) so I used Wild Wasabi as my green.  LOVE how the flowers are so white so I wanted to use Versamark and White Embossing Powder.  Here is what my card looks like:

Isn’t it pretty?  And not too many steps, sometimes simplicity is the best way to go!!

The sentiment is on Whisper White 1 3/4″ x 1 1/4″, then I used the Envelope Punch Board to round two opposite corners, to give a really pretty look!  I popped this up with dimensions after putting some adhesive on the card in the middle of the Wreath and laid down the Gold Mini sequin ribbon.  The ribbon is free to move on both ends, only the middle is stuck down.

The Gold Foil Paper is 5″ x 3 3/4″, but I cut around the inside edges to make a frame since you can’t see it and I didn’t want to waste any of it!!  The top Crumb cake is 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″.

Easy but definitely stunning!  In person, it’s even better!!

I have blog candy that I’m giving away too!  Here is what you can win:

To be in on the drawing on July 4th all you need to do is comment here on my blog, any post!  Or comment on my Facebook page, Instagram,  or Twitter!  I will put all the names into a Random Name Generator and I will announce the winner!  Who doesn’t want something free for just posting nice things?!!

Once again, I hope you have enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed making it!  Please subscribe to my blog so you won’t miss out on my posts in the future!

Christmas Already? Wow card using Embossing Paste!

Yes, my title says it all!  I’m starting to design my Christmas Cards!  I’m sure there will be more when the Holiday Mini comes out, but I figure I need to start now and so do my girls!!

Today I am sharing with you a design I came up with using the stamp set from Stampin’ Up! called At Home with You!  I know I have shown other cards using this stamp set, but when you add the Embossing Paste and the Pattern Party Decorative Masks it takes the card a step further than I had before!!  The embossing paste really makes the front of the card a house!  Here is a picture of the card:

I added two drops of Cherry Cobbler reinker to the Paste and mixed it on my Silicone Craft Sheet (soooo easy to clean after!) and then spread it over the Brick pattern on my Whisper White Cardstock (5 1/4″ x 4″ tape it down so it won’t move).  It was MUCH easier than I thought it would be!  It dried in just 30 minutes!  For this NON patient person that was awesome!  I did the brick first and then by the time I was ready for the front of the card, it was dry!  Yay for me!  No waiting!

Here is a close up of the bushes with the ornaments:

I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen and let it dry.

And finally a close up of a side view:

I want to try the battery lights for this card, but I’m a little intimidated by it…….anyone do that before?

I will be making more Christmas cards as time goes on!  I plan on having a Christmas card class next month……I better get going on designing!  🙂

I also have blog candy!!

Darling Baby Card! Kylie’s International Blog hop!

Once again I am TRYING to be in the top ten for Kylie’s International Blog Hop, will you help me??  I came close last time, but would really like to get there this time!   Can you tell that the dog is fluffy and two colors!?  Read on to see how it was done!

Please vote for me by going to Kylie’s blog hop page!  To vote, you will click on the heart in the right corner of the pictures, preferably mine!!  🙂

The theme this month is Baby.  My card isn’t traditional ‘baby’ but I think it would make a GREAT Birthday card for any baby, OR on the inside it could say that you are expecting!!  That you are HAVING a baby!!

Here’s my card:

Isn’t it cute!!??  Same as last month, I had a totally different card planned, but I didn’t think it mustered!  I came home from a stamp class today and sat right down and made this one!  I love how the dog has such puffy fur!  Want to know how I did that?

That’s Vellum that I stamped the dog on, using Soft Suede (then embossed with clear), I then turned it over onto one of our stamp mats, and using the stylus from the Score Board I press in circular motions (gently at first!!) on the places for the white fur, it makes the Vellum raise up and turn white!!  Cool Right!!?? I then cut ANOTHER dog out of Soft Suede (using the thinlit of course!) and popped up the Vellum, putting the mini dimensionals (YUM!) under the pom pom balls on his feet and front!!  You can’t see them, can you!?  That’s because the Vellum is so white that you can place them behind and it disappears!  I LOVE this technique!

Can you see the clouds in the sky?!  Those are made with Stampin’ Up!’s Embossing Paste and the masks!

The little girl AND the dog are stamped, but the fox is cut out of the Designer Series Paper!  LOVE, love, love this suite!

Here’s a close up of the puffy:

The ‘fixin’s’ for this card are listed below, click on any picture and you will be taken to my Online Store!  When you order from me, you will receive a handmade card, plus a little thank you gift!  Please use the Hostess code: C62FFAR3

I love stamping, and if you live near me I would love for you to come stamp with me!  I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I have!

Bumpy Bike ride near the Mountains

Today the mail came and inside was my framelits for Bike Ride from Stampin’ Up!  Of course I had to give it a try!

I wanted mountains in my picture so I tore some Post-It notes and stuck them to the top of my card:

I then sponged lightly Dapper Denim at the top, making the part closer to the Sticky Notes darker, and then fading the color away.

I ran the cardstock that I was using through the Big Shot with the bumpy rock thinlit under the paper, then ran it though.   This gave the Cardstock the bumps!  They look like rocks so I sponged over them using Soft Suede, this highlighted the rocks!  I was so tickled by this! Normally you put your thinlit OVER your cardstock to cut it out, but this time I wanted the impression.  Came out pretty didn’t it!?

I stamped the Bike in Fresh Fig, SU’s NEW In Color!  I also stamped the basket in it!  The dog’s scarf is Fresh Fig too!

Here is the card:

The thinlits I used are the bike frame, dog, basket, flowers and butterflies.  Oh! And my favorite the rocks!

The butterflies are cut out of the Designer Series Paper Birthday Memories:

I LOVE this thinlit! Just cut out the butterfly and it has the antenna, wings and ALL!  I HAD to add Dazzling Diamonds to make them look even prettier!

The Measurements are the normal card size with the Base being in Fresh Fig 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, scored at the 5 1/2″ line to make the card.
The Whisper White is 4″ x 5 1/4″  And scraps for all the cut outs!  This was a really fun card to make!!  I love how you can make so many different things  be on the bike!  Just change out your background and the stamp set can be for sooooo many different occasions!

I hope you enjoyed your visit today!  I have more Blog Candy to give away  on here tomorrow!!  Be sure and visit so you can be in the drawing to win!

Click on any of the pictures below to be taken to my Online Store! If you purchase goodies from me, I will send you a handmade card and a little gift!  Please use the Hostess Code: C62FFAR3
