Technique Tuesday-Faux Embroidery using Painted Harvest

Want to receive this card?  Check out below how you can be in a drawing to get this beautiful card mailed to you!

Today I am sharing with you a new Technique that I kind of stumbled on!!  I’m using the NEW stamp set:  Painted Harvest #144783 which will be in the Holiday Catalog coming out in September!  You can see the video on YouTube, I have some great tips and it’s a VERY simple Z fold card!

Here is a picture of the front of the card:

Isn’t it GORGEOUS!?  I was just playing around and was astounded at how great this came out!  This is one of those times when I am sitting at my stamp table (by myself) and I start to talk and say how beautiful it is!  LOL   No-One is there, mind you……..even after 16 years of stamping I STILL get excited that I can make something this pretty!

Here it is open:

Doesn’t Berry Burst work great with this card?   And here is a close-up of the front flower that looks like embroidery:

I popped up this whole piece using the Foam Adhesive Strips since they pop up more than Dimensionals.  The video I made shows a different leaf than the one shown here, and I like it better.  I show you how to mask the flower and put the leaves behind it.  I also show you how to do the ribbon behind this image.  If you go see it, leave me a message and let me know what you think.

IF you leave me a message I will have a drawing in 2 weeks on the 28th for one of you to win this card!  Leave a message either here on my blog or on the video on Youtube.

ALL the dimensions are on the video, so if you want to recreate this go check it out!

All the supplies are listed below, click on any picture to be sent to my On-Line Store!  If you purchase from me I will be sending you a handmade card as a Thank You!

This is a SNEAK PEEK so hope you enjoyed this card as much as I do!  Keep an eye out for MORE Technique Tuesday videos!  Techniques are my favorite.  Anything that will let me use my stamp supplies more are a win win in my book!

Until next time!

High Tide meets Pattern Party Decorative Mask

Last time I posted I gave a little teaser and told you that I made a card  using the High Tide stamp set with the Pattern Party Decorative Mask……..Here is the card I made!

When I saw the Medallion in the mask, I thought immediately that it could be a ‘sun’…….is that weird that my mind went there?  I hope not!!  I sponged it with Crushed Curry and then went over it with Rose Red, to give it that HOT look.  🙂  High Tide is one of my favorite Stamp sets STILL!  I am not sure if or WHEN it will stop being my favorite, I guess time will tell on what Stampin’ Up! brings out next. This company always pleasantly surprises me!

For the sky and water I used Soft Sky as the base, the waves are done in Pool Party.  The lighthouse is in Dapper Denim, with the first image stamped off…….this is the image that I get so tickled with when I am done stamping…….it is just so intricate and I can’t get over that I stamped it!  Silly, I know!  I’m the one who sits in her Stamp Room by MYSELF and says how great something looks……my kids used to shake their heads and comment that I’m crazy!  Bwaahahahaha  I just get so tickled that I can make beautiful things!  Never in my life was I even a LITTLE bit creative, so when I discovered SU!, I was astonished that I could do things that would make others (including me!) think it was pretty!  My sister always had the creative gene, and after 17 years I am still tickled.  AND I get paid to do it!  What’s better than that!?

The sentiment (Love) is from Lovely Friends, BUT the outside ring is from Label Me Pretty!  I used a marker to color the outside ring then stamped the LOVE from Lovely Label.  I was so happy when I saw that it fit perfectly inside that ring.

Here are the dimensions for this card:

*****
Dapper Denim: 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″ scored t 4 1/4″
Gold Foil: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
Whisper White: 5″ x 3 3/4″
*****

Christmas in July card #2 Plus Blog Candy

I love getting a jump on things!  This month I am planning on getting a jump on Christmas Cards!  I have a class at the end of the month where we will be making 16 cards at one time!  3 each of 5 designs!  I have already shown you Two of my cards:

The First one uses the Embossing paste and you can find the details here.   The Second one you can find here.

The Third Christmas card (out of 6) is straight out of the catalog!  I don’t know what you guys think about the new Catalog, but I LOVE the card ideas in there!  Stampin’ Up! has stepped up most of the ideas and I love them so much I have copied them…….or as a lot of Stampers call it (CASE…..Copy, And, Share, Everything).  It’s great when you are in a bind for an idea and there it is!

Here is the card I’m sharing today!

You can find this design on page 114 in the Catalog!   Another antiquey card!  I colored the berries on the bottom, so it’s TECHNICALLY not a total CASE but I pretty much copied everything else.  Do you like it?

Inside Pic:

Out of my 6 cards, most are straightforward and very simple, but others are a ‘little’ harder.  This one has some masking (I put the stamped image that was cut out of post it over the Santa to sponge around him, so I could get it darker around the edges than i wanted him) I then sponged again, to make sure and get parts of him sponged so it looks old.  This card is something anyone could do, with some guidance.  I HAVE  to have some easier cards so we can make them in bulk, but also have some stepped up cards so we, as stampers, are happy!

Details for this card: ie measurements:

*************

Card stock:
Soft Suede 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored in half at 4 1/4″
Very Vanilla 4 x 4 3/4″ torn on the 4″ side (once torn it will be approximately 3 5/8″)  and 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ (for the part the Santa is stamped on), 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside

Accessories:
Linen Thread wrapped around 2 x
Colored pencils, I used real red, but made it as dark as I could.

The rest of the supplies will be in pictures below, click on any picture and you will be taken to my OnLine Store!

Are you excited to see the rest of my Christmas in July cards?  Stay tuned!!  I’ll be posting tomorrow my Kylie International Blog Hop card, it is NOT Christmas, but stay tuned the others will be coming soon!  I hope that you will vote for me!!

Christmas in July!!

Here is the start of my Christmas cards that I will be making this year!  If you receive cards from me and want to be surprised, don’t go any further!!  LOL

I am doing a class where we will make 3 each of FIVE Christmas cards, and if you prepay you get to make an extra Bonus card!  I’m hoping to get a headstart on my Christmas cards this year, how about you?!

I am going to show you today ONE of my 6 cards so far…….make sure you check back in so you can see the others!

Here is the first one:

I love cards that are weathered and antiquey……..I know that is NOT a word, but that’s the only one that came to mind!  LOL

I stamped the Music Notes on the Vanilla piece with Sahara Sand, but stamped off first so it wasn’t so dark.  I then tore the cardstock in carefully planned areas, and made it look old.  LOVE doing this, don’t you?  This card was really simple except that the ageing did tak a little time, but not as much as you would think.  I stamped the Reindeer? using Early Espresso ink, didn’t color him in at all, and I think he looks great!  I wanted some of my cards to be a little simpler since I will be making these in bulk.  I cut him out using the Stitched Framelits and then cut a mat using the Circle framelits using the scallop, cutting this out with Cherry Cobbler.  I used my Early Espresso marker to make the stitched edge look stitched!

For the Banner I used the Bunch of Banners thinlits.  Did you know that this banner thinlit cuts out BOTH the sentiment AND the border?  I hadn’t used this one yet, and was surprised that it did that, so I was able to frame the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler!

I added Linen Thread behind the Reindeer, popped up the sentiment with Dimensionals and I was done!   Easy Peasy!

Here is what the inside looks like:

Isn’t it pretty?

Below is a pictorial list of what I used to make this card, click on any picture and you will be taken to my OnLine Store!  If you purchase anything from me online I will send you a handmade card!

Want some Blog Candy?  I have taken a few days off since giving away my last one, so I guess it’s time!!

I LOVE embossing folders and I also love Bakers Twine!  This Bakers Twine is Gray, my FAVORITE color!  Is Gray a color?

You can get this mailed directly to you if you win the drawing that I will be having in a few weeks on July 29th.  How can you win this?  Easy!  Just leave me comments here on my blog, OR on any of my Social Media places……..Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.  ALL comments count, no matter which posts you comment on!  You can spend a good amount of time visiting my older posts and commenting and they count!!  Not only will you be getting good ideas for you projects, but you will be put in my drawing each and every time you comment!  Pretty easy wouldn’t you say?

I’m off, dinner is almost ready!!  I’m very lucky, I have a husband who likes to cook and I don’t have to!!  WooHoo!

Subscribe to my posts so you won’t miss the rest of this month’s Christmas cards!!

Another Easy but wow card straight from the Catalog!

The card I am sharing with you today is from the stamp set Hello Friend!  I shared this card with you last time:

I, once again, looked in the Catalog for Inspiration!  This is the image that struck me as something I wanted to try:

This is using the kit on page 16 & 17:  Hello Friend Heat Embossing Project Kit.  I don’t have the kit……….yet, but have the stamp set and wanted to give this a try.  I DID have the Gold mini sequins!  Those are just too stinkin’ cute!!  I was giggling when I got them!  It doesn’t take much (in the card making world) to make me happy!

I didn’t have the kit, but I loved the way the wreath looked on Crumb Cake, so I was using that.  I wanted a lighter green (than pictured) so I used Wild Wasabi as my green.  LOVE how the flowers are so white so I wanted to use Versamark and White Embossing Powder.  Here is what my card looks like:

Isn’t it pretty?  And not too many steps, sometimes simplicity is the best way to go!!

The sentiment is on Whisper White 1 3/4″ x 1 1/4″, then I used the Envelope Punch Board to round two opposite corners, to give a really pretty look!  I popped this up with dimensions after putting some adhesive on the card in the middle of the Wreath and laid down the Gold Mini sequin ribbon.  The ribbon is free to move on both ends, only the middle is stuck down.

The Gold Foil Paper is 5″ x 3 3/4″, but I cut around the inside edges to make a frame since you can’t see it and I didn’t want to waste any of it!!  The top Crumb cake is 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″.

Easy but definitely stunning!  In person, it’s even better!!

I have blog candy that I’m giving away too!  Here is what you can win:

To be in on the drawing on July 4th all you need to do is comment here on my blog, any post!  Or comment on my Facebook page, Instagram,  or Twitter!  I will put all the names into a Random Name Generator and I will announce the winner!  Who doesn’t want something free for just posting nice things?!!

Once again, I hope you have enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed making it!  Please subscribe to my blog so you won’t miss out on my posts in the future!

The pictures of the products used will be below, just click on any picture and you will be taken to my Online Store!  If you purchase from me, you will receive a handmade card from me plus a little than you gift!

Until next time,

Hello Friend! Stunning yet easy, Really!

I bought the new stamp set from Stampin’ Up! called Hello Friend because it looked like it would be a fun stamp set to use!  I was NOT disappointed!

I went out on Pinterest to see what others have done with this set, and you know what?  NOTHING was out there!  So, what is a girl to do?  I checked out the SU! catalog, that’s what I did!  And you know what, they had the BEST idea in there!  Here’s what they have:

This is using the Hello Friend Heat Embossing Project kit on page 17.  I loved it, but of course had to make it my own.   Plus, I don’t have the kit…….yet!  You really should go take a look, you will love how easy and beautiful this kit is!

Here is mine:

Isn’t it beautiful!!  And the idea came right out of the catalog!

Dimensions:

Flirty Flamingo 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
Black 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
Watercolor Paper 5″ x 3 3/4″

I used Aqua Painters and the re-inkers for Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach.

I will have the items I used below, just click on the picture and it will take you straight to my Online Store!

I also have Blog Candy!  The drawing is on July 4th!  You just need to comment on any of my social media posts!  Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or here on my blog, anywhere!  EVERY comment counts!
