Star Wars handmade Birthday card, PLUS Blog Candy!

How does time get away from me?  I know!  It’s because I get to stamping in my stamp room and time just flies!

As I went to bed last night, I was thinking of what had to be done……….THIS is why it’s so hard to shut my brain off when I go to bed!  I thought I still had plenty of time to come up with a Star Wars birthday card for my Grandson, Isaac.  NOPE!!  I am in North Carolina, he’s in California and his  birthday is in 3 days!  NOT sure it will get there in time, but I’ve been talking and thinking about this card for a MONTH!  🙂  Does that count?

Here is what I came up with (thanks to Pinterest and Carrie Rhodes!):

I am NOT a big Star Wars Fan, so thank goodness for Pinterest!  🙂  Now, don’t get me wrong, I like Star Wars, I’m just not a HUGE fan!  I hope he likes it!  My daughter wants me to make one of each Character, I already made Yoda, so anyone have any pictures of anyone who might have  made the other characters?  I have ONE year to plan!  hahaha  Hope I make it on time!

Here is some of the pieces used to make it, some are retired, but all are from Stampin’ Up!,  (see below for all product) glad I held on to them!

Of course I trimmed all the circles away, BUT you might want to learn from me……..wait until the glue is DRY before doing that!  I had to start over!  Thankfully the mail hadn’t come by the time I finished!

Hope you enjoyed this post, and that you will come to my rescue and send me other Star War cards that I can copy!

If you live in the United States and don’t have a demonstrator I would LOVE to be yours!  Anyone who buys from me will get a handmade card in the mail thanking them for their purchase…..you never know it just might be one you see on my blog!  Also subscribe to my Newsletter and get some great stamping ideas!

Now, onto the Blog Candy!!  I am GIVING AWAY an Embossing Folder!  What do you have to do to be in the drawing to get it?  You just have to leave me a comment here on my blog, any post until May 15th.  I will put everyone in the drawing who comments here and on my Facebook page TedderBearStamping, That’s it!  No buying anything, just commenting!  You can comment as many times as you want on different posts and it will count!

Here is what you can be in the drawing for!:

Sneak Peek of Stampin’ Up! NEW stamps!

Today I am sharing a NEW stamp set due out in June from SU!, called Colorful Seasons!  I also used the Seasonal Layers Thinlits with it!

Here is what I made:

I want to be sitting in that chair drinking some tea and watching the water go by!  Don’t you?   To make this card look like it was in a frame, I made my own frame out of Soft Sky cardstock from Stampin’ Up!

I also used the stamp set Lovely as a Tree to give the scene some dimension!  I had this card in my head since Friday and I just HAD to try and see if I could get it to come out of my head onto card stock and look just as pretty!  I think I did, what do you think?

Here is a closeup of the flowers in the tree:

I cut out the stamped images using the Thinlit and then with the Berry Blast inked flower I added some of SU!’s Fine Tip Glue so it would make it look puffy and shiny!  Love these new Colors! For the light pink I used the NEW In Color Powder Pink!

Here is a side view of the card so you can see how I made it look framed:

All of the flowers and the branches come off the framed Soft Sky piece of card stock!  I DID add pieces of the Foam Adhesive Strips onto the back of not only the Soft Sky but also each flower, so they wouldn’t get squished down with mailing.  I wanted more space than what the Dimensionals would give me so that’s why I used it.

That adirondack (spelling?) chair is so stinkin’ cute!  Right?  Do you see the glass of ‘tea’ I have sitting there?

Here’s the inside of the card:

I hope to have more ideas for you in the near future, so be sure and subscribe to my blog to not miss out!

I’ve got some NEW Blog Candy to give away!!

It’s the Happy Heart Embossing Folder by SU!   I absolutely love embossing folders, hope you do too!  I will be holding the drawing on May 15th!  How do you get this for FREE!?  You either place a comment here (no limit to how many times) on my blog, or on my Facebook Page (no limit there either!),  That’s it!  How else can you get a Stamp set for FREE!?

Hope you enjoyed my post today and my Sneak Peek!!

Impressive but easy Embossing Folder Technique

Today, I decided to do some experimenting!  Ever get an idea in your head and you just HAVE to get it out!?  I get them all the time, USUALLY when I’m trying to go to sleep at night……UGH!

I wanted to see what would happen if you added Mod Podge to SU!’s cardstock so it’s covered and THEN run it through an Embossing Folder.  Yes, it’s messy.  Yes, you will want to wash your folder right away!   And YES it it really cool!!  After running it through (and washing my folder) I heat set it.  I am NOT very patient…….hence the heat drying!  I did it on Garden Green cardstock and I did it on Shimmery White from Stampin’ Up!  LOVE, LOVE LOOOOOVE their paper!  Well, let me be honest, I love all their product! hahaha   This is the main reason I became a SU! Demonstrator!  I wanted the discount since I wanted it ALL!!

After heat setting the paper, it dried so nicely, I just looked at it to decide what to do with it!  Yes, I fly by the set of my pants……Is that the right expression?  Well, the green called me more even though I had sponged the Shimmery White with multiple colors (it was gorgeous!), but the Garden Green looked so striking!

Here is a picture of the finished card and you tell me if you think it is striking!

I know! Right!?  It made me want to let the Paper be the STAR!  Since it was leaves, I pulled out my Vintage Leaves Bundle.  The front has the Framelit and the inside has both the stamp and the framelit!  I am so astonished how beautiful this turned out!  I’m going to be honest again……….I’m ALWAYS surprised when I design something and it comes out this good!  Don’t get me wrong, I can CASE with the best of them, but my ‘ideas’ don’t always work out!  I bet there a quite a few of you who can relate!

Here is a picture of the inside!

I think it has the perfect amount of space to write in, since I never have enough to say to fill it up!  Now, WHO do I send it to?!

Here is a close-up of the leaves:

Don’t forget I have Blog Candy!  The drawing is coming up really fast!!  You can put in MULTIPLE comments for any of my posts AND you can go to my FaceBook Page and comment on there too!  So easy, and you get a great gift for FREE!!

This was a quick post today, hope you liked it!  I have a lot of classes coming up locally so send me a note if you want in on one of them! I finally have my subscription on my page fixed, so you can sign up to be notified when I post!  Hoping you will want to come back!

NC Demo Blog Hop – Stuck Santa

You just came from Laurie Meier’s blog, she’s great isn’t she?  I am Thankful for Melissa Kerman for giving me inspiration!

I got this idea from her at our NC Demo Quarterly (see below for details).  We had a tag swap, which stupidly I didn’t join.  :-/  Live and learn, right?  Well, she made this awesome tag with Santa’s legs coming out of the chimney.  Here is a picture of it:p1120027

I wanted to make a card from the tag, and this is what I came up with:

santachimney2

I used the Heart punch (which I didn’t know Melissa used, until I really looked at the boots, and was AMAZED!) and she free cut the pants, so I did that too. The Chimney I changed up some, I added some roof so I could put ‘snow’ on the edges.  I used the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Paper and cut thin wavy strips to give the snow effect.  I stamped the background with the Snowflake stamp from the Stampin’ Up! set called Snow Place.  The Jolly is a framelit from Christmas Greetings.  LOVE how I used a white gel pen to put ‘snow’ on the word, then sprinkled some Dazzling Diamonds on top.  In person this card looks so sparkly and pretty!!

The ribbon is the Whisper White Mini PomPom Trim!  Even though this is all Christmas I got everything out of the current SU! catalog!

This is a list of everything I used:

Stamp sets: Snow Place #139738

Inks:

Whisper White #101731

Paper:

Night of Navy 5″ X 3 3/4″
Real Red 5 1/4″ X  4″ and scraps
Whisper White  8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″
Basic Gray 3 3/4″ X 5″  (I ran this through the Embossing Folder and got 2 chimneys out of one piece of paper, you have to go from each side seperately)
Basic Black Scraps

Accessories:

1 1/4″ circle punch
Whisper White Mini PomPom Trim
Dazzling Diamonds
Dazzling Diamond Glitter Paper
Heart Punch
Brick Wall Embossing folder
Christmas Greetings thinlits
Sponges
Big Shot
Precision Base Plate

NC Demos is a group in North Carolina that gets together all over the state and we have ‘meetings’.  Really it’s a great get together where ideas are shared and we stamp ALL DAY!!  We learn a lot from each other and go home energized to play/work!
It’s great to meet other stampers, especially close to home!
If you live in North Carolina you can be a member too, as long as you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator!  If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask! We really are a GREAT group!!

I hope you like my Blog Hop Post!  For some reason, my blog hop button isn’t working, so click on the next name below!!

This handmade Stampin’ Up! card is inspired by Ingrid Blackburn, I made mine into a card, and it isn’t as good as what she did, but I thought it was a good start!  Here is her post.

This was a fun card to make!  Here’s what I learned while making it:  Use Bigger Post-It’s!  That is pretty much it!!  I think my sea/horizon line could be much sharper, but I really love it!!

I am also going to have a ‘specialty’ class where we can make this card and a few others…… I just might post them here!

I love having classes making both SU! handmade cards and Memory Making! I’m FINALLY getting my photos off my computer/phone and out of boxes!
My daughter took one look at how I did my Pages, that she started doing it for her son, my Grandson (one of the cutest little boys out there!!) and she finished, yes I said FINISHED 5 pages in under an hour!! She told me she had to print more pictures out, she had no idea she could get so much done in so little time!

I can’t wait to see them!

I hope to have you visit again soon!!

My downline and I made this B-You (Tiful) Card today!!  I absolutely love this stamp set from SU!  Not only does it allow you to do layers, but it has the Framelits for the Big Shot TOO!!

I love the new Embossing folder from our NEW Holiday Catalog 2014-2015 called Filigree Frame Textured Impressions!  It makes a quick and beautiful frame for your hand made art work!

I added Dazzling Diamonds and the new In Color Sequin Assortments along with our small silver brads!  I cut out the ‘B’ with the Little Letters Thinlets, they are only 28.95 and they are the perfect size for cards/Memory Making/scrapbooking!

I hope you enjoy this card as much as I have!  And for those of you in the Kernersville NC area, I’m having the class next week!  Let me know if you want to attend!
